Riding Season

Hey all,
Thanks for taking the time to check out our blog here at GiveToRide.org. We're not a charity or a non-profit, we're just a group of riders who want to make a small difference in the biker community. As bikers, we attract attention, whether we want to or not. Kids wave to us from the back seats of cars. Soccer Moms secretly want to feel the freedom of the road, and hen-pecked husbands would give anything to be behind chrome bars. We spend our weekends in the wind, sometimes for the privacy that riding gives us, and sometimes we get together to help others in need.

With the start of Bike Week in Daytona last weekend, riding season is officially here for a lot of us. Time to dust off the bike, check all the bolts and get your motor runnin'. This riding season, please give a thought to those who have gone before us,  as well as those who will come after us. I'm not going to preach about spending all your time donating and volunteering for charities. You have busy lives, things to do and places to go. All I ask is that one extra time this year, one day out of at least 180 in the riding season, you add a ride to your schedule that helps someone you don't even know. A poker run for someone with an illness, a charity ride for sick children, or a memorial ride to help a family of someone who was killed in an accident. The 10-20 dollars you add to the coffers of the event doesn't sound like much, but, if everyone does this ONCE a year, millions of dollars can be raised by our leather clad, 2 wheeled family. Step up, others will take notice, and follow in your footsteps. One person can make a difference with a small gesture, a million can change the world!

In the coming weeks, we'll be posting about some of the big runs around the country that help those in need, and feature the stories of those who Give To Ride. Join us, commit to that one extra event this year. You'll be glad you did!

Ride safe,
Jeff
